Nickel-containing stainless steel is an important and cost-effective material used in pharmaceutical production equipment, machinery and piping made of stainless steel, with smooth surfaces, easy to clean, easy to sterilize, and (if necessary) easy to remove dirt. Typically, in the pharmaceutical industry, the preferred material for processing equipment in contact with reactants is Type 316 (S31600) stainless steel, and the preferred material for support structures is Type 304 (S30400) stainless steel.
